Newark cargo ship fire kills 2 firefighters
A cargo ship carrying approximately 5,000 cars caught fire at the Port of Newark in early July 2023. Two New Jersey firefighters were killed while battling the blaze, and five others were injured. The fire burned for nearly a week before being extinguished.
